SAVE THE DATE !!!!! September 21st 5:00-7:00- A New Format

Here is a description from the News To Use blog:

One new change this year is that we will be having one evening event in September which will include both parents and students. While we love the tradition of our Ice Cream Social, we know that the children are longing to introduce their parents to their teachers (which sometimes happens, but not always) and want to show off their classrooms (which have never been open at that time). We also know that not everyone is able to attend Curriculum Night without their children. This year, Curriculum Night and the Ice Cream Social are going to be combined into an 'Ice Breaker Night'. All teachers will be in attendance and ready to greet students and their families from 5-6pm. The classrooms will be open for all, with plenty of information to share about the upcoming year. At approximately 6pm, we will gather on the playground to share ice cream and enjoy the social aspect of the evening. As usual, the ice cream is free and provided by the Friends of Cutler. We sincerely hope that every family will attend. This is an attempt to try something new...if it doesn't work, we'll consider going back to the traditional evenings next year! Teachers are excited to have all families in the classrooms so early in the year and will be sure to provide plenty of written information for you to take with you at the end of the night. We are busy thinking of ways to make this night special and informative.

Hello All

The countdown is on and I am very excited to begin our 2nd grade adventure! On Friday, I went to school and started to work on our community learning space. I am sure it will evolve as the children and I work and play in the room. I have had a great summer. Although my mother's health continues to be fragile, we have had lots of time together. The wedding was wonderful. I have attended some great professional development programs and am looking forward to implementing many of the ideas. As in the past, please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.  Please send me some summer photos to post on the blog.

Take care,

Mary
