Looking For Arrays

If you have an everyday object that is an array, please send it in for our upcoming math unit. Also, I am looking to borrow some mini muffin pans for a center using pom poms to make arrays.

 Thanks
Mary

CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.2.OA.C.4
Use addition to find the total number of objects arranged in rectangular arrays with up to 5 rows and up to 5 columns; write an equation to express the total as a sum of equal addends.

Friday Fun!

On Friday, we had fun wearing our crowns and using our catapults. Also, we interviewed our dragons and discovered their favorite foods and hobbies.

Math Centers- Money

We have enjoyed our study of money. We are great at counting coins and making change. Also, we have been solving word problems based on money. Next, we will be learning about measuring and graphing. Our last mini unit will be focused on arrays as an introduction to multiplication.

Pass The Paint

Last Monday, everyone enjoyed a game of Pass The Paint in Art class. Mrs Bailey was a guest teacher and Mrs. Beane joined in the fun! The finished masterpieces are exhibited in the back hallway.

Medieval Days

First, a big thank you to all the volunteers who prepared materials, donated supplies and organized and ran the stations. Throughout the morning, the lords and ladies of Adamik Castle created illuminated letters, jumped moats, built castle walls, shot catapults and decorated crowns. It was a spectacular morning of fun, friends and a bit of history tossed in the mix!
